Your Club 25 Board met at 7:00 a.m.
Tuesday, President Bonita presiding. Bonita
continues to challenge Directors (and all other
members as well) to propose a new member.
There have been too few this year, so keep an
eye (and ear) out for prospects. Other business
included: * A letter and ballot from D.G.
Tully Chambers regarding the Rotary Foundation
Future Vision Plan. Past Prez & Past D.G.
Dave Vose was on hand to consult our Board
on the implications of this Proposed Pilot
project. Only 100 districts world-wide will
participate in this three year plan, affecting
the process by which the R.I. Foundation will
manage block grants. By District, 2/3 of the
clubs within that district will have to ratify the
idea for their respective District to participate.
Your Board voted “yes.” We will hear back
from D.G. Chambers early in 2009, as to how
the clubs in our district voted. Thanks Dave,
for illuminating this somewhat complex issue.
• Director Tricia Bunten reported on the
results of the Fellowship Survey. Information
will be passed on to the respective Club
Committees for possible implementation.
• Vice Prez Ken Schoen reported on long
range planning and budgeting; an austerity
and efficiency project that he has been
working on. One of the significant moneysaving
initiatives Club Members should
plan on, is how your Club Bulletin, THE
GIMLET, is going to be delivered. It would
be wise of all of us to get in the habit of
receiving it via e-mail, rather than a “hard
copy” by surface mail.
