What a Rotarian can do

Wisdom to Live By...

The Four Way Test
IS IT THE TRUTH?
Am I truly a Rotarian at Heart?
Do I always act with truth and sincerity in dealing with my club?
Do I want to serve through Rotary, or be served by it?

IS IT FAIR TO ALL CONCERNED?
Have I been fair with my fellow Rotarians, with whom I share a common ideal?
Do I try to do my part to keep from overburdening my associates unfairly?
Before criticizing, do I try to understand the reasons, so my judgment can be a fair
one?

WILL IT BUILD GOODWILL AND BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
Do I practice good will, or do I look for excuses to say "I can’t?"
Am I seeking professional contacts, or am I open to good friendships and the spirit of service?
Am I part of a "clique" or do I share my fellowship with all Rotarians

WILL IT BE BENEFICIAL TO ALL CONCERNED?
Is my performance as a Rotarian valuable and beneficial to my club?
Have I exercised my talents, intelligence, and leadership in my duties to the club?
Do I communicate Rotary’s ideals to my community, offering a true example of dedication and service?

Thanks, Rotary Club of Des Moines
