Highlights from Last Week’s Meeting
By Patra Sevastiades
After two years of covid-19 preventing our annual spring fundraising gatherings, this year’s Cinco de Mayo fundraising event was evidence that Rotarians of the Rotary Club of Duluth #25 were ready to gather again to enjoy one another’s fellowship and raise funds for charitable causes Rotarians to support in the community. More than one hundred guests attended this dazzling event at Marshall School. Mexican-themed food was catered by G. B. Schneider. Beverages were BYOB. A good (and delicious) time was had by all!
Bonita Nelson, with the help of Sheryl Homan and Assistants District Governor Tricia Bunten others, festively decorated the space in the Cinco de Mayo theme
The Raffle Boxes attracted a buzz of interest. Dozens of baskets, from a canine-themed basket to a pamper yourself basket, to a pizza basket drew hundreds of raffle tickets.
The Dessert Auction featured a luscious selection of cakes, cheesecake, biscotti, tarts, and pies.
The Silent Auction gave attendees a chance to bid on a tour of Bent Paddle Brewing Company
Signature merchandise, among other wonderful options as viewed by Jon Ohman.

Many guests chose heads too.
The final four participants in Heads and Tails, Dick Moore, Patra Sevastiades, Bill Burns, and Anne Orman, were called to the front for a final showdown.
It came down to two contestants: Anne Orman (heads) won over Patra Sevastiades (tails)!
