Highlights from Last Week’s Meeting
By Renee Burns

The Annual Rotary Auction did not disappoint!  What an amazing, exciting (thrill of the hunt with the silent auction and raffle boxes) and entertaining evening!!  The annual Rotary Auction raises money to fund the remarkable organizations in the Northland that need our help.  While the totals aren’t in yet, it was clear from the enthusiasm and generosity of the guests, we had a successful event.

With skillful direction and the amazing talents of Past President Bonita Nelson, the Kitchi Gammi Club was transformed into a beautiful Kentucky Derby themed party.  Sheryl Homan helped carry out the vision and Jon Ohman showed off his engineering skills by hanging banners and moving ladders!  Dozens of red roses decorated the tables.

Guests were offered the opportunity to bid on the lovely selection of Silent Auction items.

A unique item, a Shadowbox with pieces of our past in the form of parts of Room X, at the Spaulding Hotel where Club #25 called home for many years.

Sheryl Homan keeping the bids lively.

The amphibious car adventure with dinner at Silo’s Restaurant was popular!  So much so that two more car adventures were added to an impromptu live auction, along with another offering of the “Manhattan Project”.   If you know you know……
The raffle boxes were a hit as usual and were displayed beautifully!  So much to choose from, where to put those raffle tickets???

The Dessert Auction was a BIG hit, with many to choose from and spirited bidding!

Past Presidents Barb Perrella and Chana Stocke working the crowd to get the bids up for the desserts!

Auction Co-Chairs Morgana Kolenda  Past President Elizabeth Simonson showing off the desserts.

Jon Ohman and Patra Sevastiades making sure everyone knew about, and bought a ticket for, the fabulous Earring Raffle!

The room was full of festively attired Rotarians who took the theme to heart and did their part to have a successful outcome!

  President Zach Walters having fun.

Jeff Fifield with a guest smiling for the camera.

Jim Schwartz sporting Renee Burn’s hat while posing with Past President Chana Stocke.

  Judy Sage and Allen Anway

Judy Rogers, Barbara Gravelle, Bill Gravelle and Ruth Westra

A full table of Fuldas!  Brian Fulda with his wife and Terry and Dave Fulda.

The Heads or Tails game is always a hit!  As evidenced by the winner, Becky Hansen showing just a bit of excitement at her win!

The Kitchi Gammi Club staff were wonderful and are owed our gratitude and appreciation for their professional service and above and beyond attention to detail.  Special thanks to Jen Schueller who was there from beginning to end!

Much thanks to all who helped make this evening a tremendous thanks!
