After a two-year hiatus, the “Fireside Chat” at the Kitchi Gammi Club replaced the noon meeting for Club #25.
On the shores of Gitche Gumee,
Of the shining Big-Sea-Water,
Stood Rotarians of Club #25…
There fellow Rotarians extended a warm welcome to the new Club #25 members who have joined since 2020. New members are David Clark, Deb Ellingsen, Brian Fulda, Vinod Gupta, Kevin Hagen, Grant Hauschild, Noah Holland, Jeramy Mercil, Rose Misiewicz, Stacey Oltmanns, Paula Bloomquist, Jack Seiler, Jerry Thoreson, Mike Waldron and Zach Walters. President Chana Stocke drew attention to the front of the room with a surprisingly loud whistle. President Chana Stocke then formally welcomed all the new club members. District Treasurer Elaine Hansen shared a brief history of Club #25 which was chartered in 1911.

Jim Landwehr
Jim Landwehr highlighted the
Rotary International Foundation and the global impact of Rotary service. As the Rotary Foundation states:
Rotary is dedicated to causes that build international relationships, improve lives, and create a better world to support our peace efforts and end polio forever. Naming some of the accomplishments of own Club 25 has had in our community,
Jeff Fifield's list included
the lighting of the Aerial Lift Bridge and
Enger Tower, the Thanksgiving and Christmas meals served at Life House, and funding for Boys and Girls Club Mental Health programming.
Dave Fulda shared about the
working committees that make up Club 25 such as Fund Raising and the Rotary Rose Sale – our biggest fundraising effort - which has raised over
$1 million that goes back into our community through grants determined by the Community and International Service Committee. We also have fun times planned by the Events Committee chaired by
Mary Niemeyer who reminded us of upcoming events such as the
Annual Dinner and Auction on May 5; President's Night at the Garden on June 2, and our July picnic at Enger Tower.
Again, a warm Rotary welcome to our new members.
